The 2015 season is upon us, so the carol books are packed away and the piles of Christmas music can be filed into the cabinet for another 11 months. As is now traditional, we have our ‘Christmas’ get-together in January before rehearsals start again (December is a busy month for singers after all!) So that was on Friday night down in Belfast and we get back to business proper now – looking forward some new music and reviving some old favourites…

And speaking of old, I was reminded this week that the choir was formed back in 1993 so I had a look back at what was happening then…

  • Ford unveiled their new model – the Mondeo, and Vauxhall launched the replacement to the Nova – the Corsa
  • John Major was PM, and UKIP were formed
  • Big film releases of the year included Jurassic Park, Mrs Doubtfire, Sleepless in Seattle and Schindler’s List won the Oscar for Best Film
  • and just to brighten up the lives of our founder choir peeps, 3 members of One Direction were born that year!
