As ever, Grosvenor hits the ground running and this season has been no exception…
My weekly routine is pretty much set for the next ten months as the Monday night trips to rehearsals have started and i wouldn’t have it any other way!
We’ve had our first gig already in the fantastic setting of Clandeboye Estate – a great way to blow out any cobwebs from the summer break; but also great to be back with friends and familiar sounds (note: while we know that pencils should always be at the ready to make notes on your music… it appears that it’s useful to keep a good quality pen handy, should a wedding register ever need signed…)
Monday night saw us embracing (or rather holding) our inner furry animals – posture is important to making the most of your vocal instrument – and the opening weeks of rehearsals will see the choir focusing on learning how to get the best from their own voices while contributing to the collective sound – something we all can learn from, no matter how long we’ve been singing with Grosvenor!
But of course – along with the serious business of singing, there’s always room for the usual bit of banter and lots of cameraderie.
We’re looking forward to what this coming year will bring and 2013 heralds the beginning of our 20th anniversary celebrations – exciting times ahead!
