Call us gluttons for punishment, but some of the choir are taking part in a concert at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast featuring John Rutter’s ‘Magnificat’ this coming Saturday (25th September)

Rehearsals started back in June and a 150(ish) strong choir will take to the stage, with full orchestra under the direction of John Rutter himself. The choir is made up of singers from right across the province and there will also be performances from Ballyholme and Waringstown Primary Schools choirs who have both previously won BBC “Songs of Praise Junior Choir of the Year” titles. There will also be performances from Julie Bell (violin), Jenny Heaney (flute) and Elizabeth Ross (soprano).

The concert is all in aid of the Down Cathedral Restoration appeal. The Cathedral is a place close to Grosvenors’ hearts both as the venue for our annual Carol Service and also the venue where we recorded our upcoming new album.

Tickets are still available from the Waterfront Box Office – you can follow the contact details by clicking the link on our front page.

So come on and join the party – a wee bird tells us that Mr Rutter is celebrating a very special birthday this weekend too (and he gets to spend it with us in a 3 hour rehearsal on Friday night!)
