It is with deep sadness that we learned of the death yesterday morning of Mrs Audrey Lee, wife of the late Ronnie Lee in whose memory the choir was founded in 1993. Audrey along with her daughters Christine and Janet gave incredible support to us as we formed together 23 years ago and have always taken an interest in the choir’s development by attending concerts, listening in to broadcasts and recordings and welcoming me to their home.
We are particularly glad that she and Christine were able to join with us for the 20th anniversary celebrations in 2013.
Audrey was one of the most gentle and kind ladies imaginable and with a sharp but lovely sense of humour. She played a major part in her husband’s success as a choirmaster and we have learned much from her reminiscences and insights of Ronnie over the years.
We offer her whole family circle our heartfelt condolences at this most difficult time.
